I’ve always wanted to watch the Oscar’s from … well, let’s be honest, my seat in the front row at the Kodak next to Mr. Clooney himself and while I am still chasing that dream, I had a pretty fabulous Oscar day this year thanks to I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!

When we got to the roof, it was like a movie … the Hollywood sign was the perfect backdrop for the show and the day was beautiful and bright! I snapped a few shots of the set before meeting the hosts.
I owe a thank you to Carson for standing in the back in this photo so I was able to get a little camera love in the front. Kiss kiss Mr. Kressley … YOU ARE THE BEST!
When we met all the host they were very “real” and wonderfully friendly. They were completely open to answering the questions we had and I have to say I just loved Carson! Maybe it’s because he complimented my neon orange Ralph Lauren heels that I’d paired with a bright blue silk dress by Amanda Uprichard, one of my favorite new designers. AND Molly Sims complimented me on my gold charm necklace and said she had a very similar one … talk about starting my Sunday off on the right foot in the fashion department.
The hosts shared their thoughts about what we’d be seeing on the red carpet later that afternoon and for the most part, they were right … plenty of old Hollywood glamor mixed with modern hairstyles and nothing too risky or over-the-top. They also dished on a few of their favorite beauty tips:
“Choosing the right neckline for your body can make you look several pounds lighter or heavier – so choose one that suits you!” said Molly Sims.
“Accessorizing is one of the easiest ways to look chic and fashionable every day,” Brooke Burke told us.
“Eye gels are the best way to look great when you are tired … they really reduce puffiness under the eyes and dark circles.” All three celebs seemed to agree with this. Their favorite brands? Skyn Iceland and Giorgio Armani Regenessence.
Sadly our new found friends could not come back to the hotel with us as they had a show to host so we headed to the W where they had a suite waiting with Katie Lee’s Oscar inspired recipes, cocktails, AND famous makeup artist to the stars Terri Apanasewicz. Makeup is another one of my 5 favorite things so I was beyond excited to get tips from Terri who has used her talents to make stars like Lady Antebellum, Cindy Crawford, and Marissa Miller even more beautiful.
“Less is more.”
“Eyebrows are so neglected – after using a pencil set them with powder.”
“Trends are meant to INSPIRE, not necessarily be followed.” That was my favorite tip :).
